Reporting to the Senior Director of Development and serving as a key member of the Individual Giving team, this position advances the mission of the Clinton Foundation ( Foundation ) through the engagement of individual donors.

Specifically, this includes managing and coordinating the identification, segmentation, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors making annual gifts of $1,000 -

$5,000, as well as managing the Foundation’s 20 / 30 annual giving program for young professionals, and assisting with the management of the Foundation’s Ambassador giving program.

The Development Officer for Individual Giving at the Clinton Foundation is a proactive, confident self-starter who thrives in a fast-

  • Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Development, the Development Officer manages and grows an assigned portfolio of individual donors and prospective donors with targeted annual and multi-
  • year giving of $1,000 - $5,000 to meet established goals.

  • Engages in the direct cultivation and solicitation of donors and prospects, including through in-person meetings, telephone, written solicitations / proposals, email, and other means tailored as specifically as possible to donor preferences.
  • Manages the Foundation’s 20 / 30 annual giving program for young professionals with the goal of engaging the next generation of Foundation supporters and advocates for its programs and initiatives.
  • This includes working closely with Development and Marketing and Communications colleagues to conceive and implement targeted communications and engagement strategies, including tailored events for 20 / 30 donors.

  • Utilizes the Foundation’s CRM database and other available research and analytical tools to identify, qualify, segment, cultivate, solicit, and steward the portfolio to maximize philanthropic giving and deepen donors’ engagement with the Foundation.
  • This includes recording all significant donor interactions and moves management activities in CRM database.

  • Tracks gifts and pledge commitments within the assigned portfolio and reconciles gift activity with quarterly donor disclosure and other reporting.
  • Monitors pledge reminders, receipting, and acknowledgement processes for timeliness and accuracy.

  • Assists the Sr. Development Officer for Individual Giving, Sr. Director of Development, and others in managing and coordinating the Foundation’s Ambassador giving program, including but not limited to assisting with communications and engagement strategies, stewardship and recognition, and tailored Ambassador events.
  • Assists the Sr. Director of Development and Chief Development Officer with any special projects, especially those related to individual giving, including but not limited to fundraising events, direct response efforts, planned giving, and / or administrative tasks.
  • Participate in overall Development Team planning and budgeting as requested and manages expenses within budget and / or applicable policies.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Qualifications

    1. Education (Minimum Needed and Type of Degree Needed) :

  • Minimum Required : Bachelors Degree
  • Preferred : Advanced degree. CFRE or other specialized certification / designation is beneficial.
  • 2. Work Experience (Minimum Needed) :

  • 3. Specialized Knowledge Needed for Performance of Job :

  • Demonstrated success in individual giving required. Portfolio management experience beneficial.
  • 4. Skills (e.g. Level of Judgment Required, Ability to Direct, Work Independently, Multi-Task, etc.) :

  • Ability to think strategically and contextually, and to anticipate the needs and expectations of executive leaders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple, concurrent tasks, exhibit flexibility, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and present data effectively, make decisions, allocate resources, and align efforts with opportunities.
  • Acts with tact and discretion, respecting confidentiality and proprietary information.
  • 5. Special Skills (Technical or Advanced)

  • Proficient with CRM systems, MSOffice, and Internet required.
  • Knowledge of relevant analytical tools and wealth screening beneficial.

  • Superb verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel locally and sometimes out-of-state, occasionally work after hours and on weekends, and operate an automobile.
  • Physical and Other Requirements

  • Office Environment : Constant computer work requiring repetitive motion, prolonged sitting and sustained visual / mental demands.
  • Occasional lifting, bending, pulling, collating, and filing, some of which may be heavy (>

    15 lbs.) and require use of carts.

  • Travel Environment : Occasional long-distance travel (sometimes to developing countries) which may require walking distances, lifting and carrying luggage and boxes (>
