Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and serving as a key member of the Development leadership team, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships will provide both the strategic leadership and tactical management necessary to effectively execute a high-
performing institutional giving program. This includes oversight of corporate gifts and sponsorships, foundation and government grants, and creatinga robust pipeline of institutional support.
The Director will manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation funders and prospects, as well as work in close partnership with the CDO and Development leadership team, CEO, program leadership, and others charged with strengthening relationships with institutional funders / sponsors from identification to solicitation to stewardship.

Works closely with CDO and Development leadership team, CEO, program leadership and others in the identification, qualification, and cultivation of strategic, high-
value corporate and foundation entities and their executives that align with the Foundation’s mission and programmatic priorities.,.
Creates a robust Corporate and Foundation Partnerships program through the development and implementation of annual goals, multi-
year partnerships, and grant-seeking strategies to meet strategic priorities and current / future funding objectives.
Institutionalizes and streamlines requisite systems and processes for grants, grant cycles / deadlines, and portfolio / pipeline management regarding foundations, corporate foundations, and government sources
Leads by example, coaches and inspires others to meet and exceed annual fundraising goals through effective use and monitoring of key performance metrics.
Corporate Giving and Sponsorships
Manages a portfolio of corporate donors / sponsors and prospects, with an emphasis on annual fundraising goals, as well as multi-year partnerships.
In collaboration with the CDO and program leaders, develops and maintains an inventory of significant corporate giving / sponsorship opportunities.
Prepares presentations, partnership proposals, and sponsorship agreements.
Partners closely with program leaders in planning and executing corporate engagement and solicitation strategies.
Authors, reviews, and / or edits significant funding proposals and required reports as needed
Foundation and Government Grants
Manages a portfolio of foundation relationships, with an emphasis on annual fundraising goals and programmatic priorities, as well as multi-year grants.
Develops a deep understanding of key programs that may appeal to foundation and government funders and maintains an inventory of significant foundation / government funding opportunities.
Regularly collaborates with others to plan and coordinate grant-seeking efforts in support of identified priorities.
Authors, reviews, and / or edits significant grant proposals and required reports as needed.
Prospect Management / Research Services
Conducts and / or oversees targeted searches for corporate, foundation, and / or government funders with funding interests that align with Foundation programs and priorities.
Leads regular CFP portfolio / prospect pipeline meetings (and tracking) with program leads and / or other Development team members.
Donor Relations and Special Events
Oversees CFP recognition programs, donor listings, and coordinates appropriate and timely gift / grant acknowledgements and submission of high-
quality stewardship, financial, and / or technical reports.
Contributes to the planning and execution of special events and convenings, especially as related to sponsor / funder relationship management.
Works closely with CDO to develop an annual budget for the CFP program and monitors revenues and expenses to see that budget targets are met.
Facilitates formal and informal training and professional development of Foundation staff to advance effective institutional giving efforts.

1. Education (Minimum Needed and Type of Degree Needed) :
Minimum Required : Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred : CFRE or other specialized certification / designation is beneficial.
2. Work Experience (Minimum Needed) :
Minimum Required : 6-8 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience in a similar role at an organization of comparable size and complexity, including at least 3-
5 years in a leadership / management role.
Preferred : 3 or more years supervisory responsibilities.
3. Specialized Knowledge Needed for Performance of Job :
Demonstrated success in corporate / foundation giving / sponsorships, including significant experience with soliciting / closing large sponsorships / grants and related portfolio management required.
Documented success in the preparation of six and seven-figure grant and sponsorship proposals.
Experience working with executive leadership and volunteer boards / committees preferred.

5. Special Skills (Technical or Advanced)
Proficient with CRM systems, MSOffice, and Internet required.
Knowledge of relevant online research tools (e.g., Foundation Directory Online) strongly preferred.

Superb verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to operate an automobile.

7. Additional Comments
Ability to work in a varying schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, and work on multiple time zones, as necessary.
Physical and Other Requirements
Office Environment : Constant computer work requiring repetitive motion, prolonged sitting and sustained visual / mental demands.
Occasional lifting, bending, pulling, collating, and filing, some of which may be heavy (>
15 lbs.) and require use of carts.
Travel Environment : Occasional long-distance travel (sometimes to developing countries) which may require walking distances, lifting and carrying luggage and boxes (>
25 lbs.) or prolonged periods of sitting in tight quarters.
