Position Description

The HRBP for MEA & Turkey will be an integral member of QIAGEN’s Human Resources Team providing operational HR support to the QIAGEN operations in Egypt, UAE, South Africa and Turkey.

The individual will be reporting into the Head of HR Operations, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and will be based in the QIAGEN Headquarter in Venlo, The Netherlands or in Ankara, Turkey.

The individual will be responsible for the entire spectrum of HR matters along the employee life cycle from hiring and on-boarding through compensation and benefits as well as training & development up to employee relations management and exit management.

Supported by global and regional teams for strategic functions such as Compensation & Benefits, HR Development & Training, HR services and HR Processes & Systems the HRBP will be the local voice of HR and of the QIAGEN employees in the region working very closely with the commercial leaders in the countries to establish a professional HR footprint in the region.

Position Requirements

Primary responsibilities

  • Establish, develop and / or transform HR principles, policies, guidelines and processes in the countries of the region integrating QIAGEN standards with local cultural norm and practice
  • Provide professional HR advice and support to leaders and employees
  • Maintain an understanding of local employment law and its application - proactively update HR policies, processes and related material to ensure compliance
  • Work closely with colleagues in the EMEA HR Team, the global functions and the HR service teams in the various QIAGEN locations
  • Manage and ensure process compliance of all operational topics related the employee life cycle in the countries and coach managers in their responsibilities related to : Talent acquisitionOn-boarding & probation period monitoringPerformance Management process including appraisals and development plansTraining to local employees and managers in assistance of the Global Development & Training teamCompensation reviewsBenefits reviews and administrationCoordination of the monthly payroll, processing employee and benefit changes to deliver a high level of customer serviceEmployee data & systems update
  • Drive employee engagement through culture and belonging via employer branding and well-being initiatives
  • Recommend process improvements to maximize efficiency considering many parts of HR operations processes are executed by an off-site service team
  • Participate to regional or global projects to develop HR programs and services continuously
  • Responsible for some administrative duties as needed
  • Position requirements, qualifications and experiences

  • University degree in business administration, psychology, behavioral sciences, law or similar or an alternative combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of HR Manager experience in a similar region including HR operations background for / in Turkey
  • Desire to establish professional HR structures and partner with various business leaders in a diverse region
  • Background in process improvements and project management
  • Excellent communication in English and Turkish languages, Arabic is preferred and other languages are welcome
  • Experience in SAP HRM or other HRIS systems are a plus
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization as well as independently
  • Hands-on attitude with the ability to flex between Corporate standards and local pragmatic solutions
  • Available to travel as needed and up to 25%
