As a member of the Quality Control Laboratory at New England Biolabs (NEB), the person in this position will have the primary responsibility of performing final QC assays for enzymes or molecular biology reagents while complying with company quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities :
Perform QC assays for enzymes or molecular biology reagents using gel based and spectrophotometric methods
Make and maintain inventory of commonly used reagents
Interpret test results by using approved product specifications
Report questionable test results to management
Maintain testing and result paperwork according to quality standards and protocols
Maintain lab cleanliness and adherence to all safety guidelines
Maintain up to date training using an electronic document management system
Willingness to learn new and emerging technologies (qPCR, UPLC, CE etc.)
Required Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
Good hands at the bench and an ability to perform careful and consistent experiments
Skilled in operating standard laboratory equipment including centrifuges, pipettes, pH meters and spectrophotometers
Experience performing laboratory-based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing results in biological, chemical and life sciences
Preferred Qualifications and Experience :
Experience working in a QC lab setting that follows ISO 9001, 13485 and / or GMP Quality Management Standards
Ability to perform routine tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies to carry out analyses
Experience running SDS-PAGE and Urea gels
Strong record keeping skills and the ability to analyze, interpret and present results to senior staff
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with others
Working knowledge of MS Office applications, SAP and electronic lab software platforms (ELN, LIMS etc.)
