Maxim Integrated is seeking a highly motivated audio / acoustic signal processing / machine learning engineer to join our world class audio engineering team.
This position will be responsible for developing innovative audio software / algorithm / system to shape the future of listening lifestyle in the growing market of wearables and hearables devices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Audio DSP Engineer shall :
Investigate, design, prototype, demonstrate and implement innovative audio processing technology, including microphone processing, speaker processing, voice processing, music processing, noise processing, stereo and spatial audio rendering,
Apply machine learning techniques to solve challenging audio and acoustic processing problems,
Collaborate proactively and effectively in a team of business managers, IC designer, system engineers for the design, deployment, and testing of complex audio systems under strict schedule and form factor constraints,
Create clear and thorough documentation, presentation for internal and customer references
Generate disruptive audio IP,
Seamlessly coordinate with internal clients, colleagues, and the project management team to discuss the exact requirements,
Ensure proper software development, testing, debugging, integration and documentation
Work in coordination with the team of development and quality assurance engineers to make sure that it passes and sustains all the validation standards,
Be an excellent communicator and team player,
Be able to independently operate in a global, diverse software development community across many geographical locations,
Exhibit professional behavior with both internal / external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices,
Perform other duties as may be determined by management
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Master's Degree + 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Related Discipline with specialty in audio / acoustics
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS :
Solid working knowledge of audio, acoustics, and psychoacoustics
Hands-on experience (>
3 years) in designing and implementing advanced audio signal processing algorithms
Extensive experience in the following technologies :
Experience with professional software design tools and techniques, including version control, code review, planning, etc.
Understanding of software development process, and test methodologies
Demonstrated success in working with global teams
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills across all levels
Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to work independently and in teams
Ability to operate flexibly in a fast-paced environment
preferred skills & qualifications)
PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
5 years working experience with a minimum of 1-year experience working in audio industry
Knowledge and hands-on experience on the following topics : active noise cancellation (ANC), adaptive filters, beamforming, microphone array processing, spatial audio, artificial reverberation, audio effects / enhancement, virtual / augmented reality, assisted listening, echo cancellation, speech processing and recognition, wake-on-voice
Knowledge and experience of real-time audio processing system, including ADC, DAC, amplifiers, DSP, MCU, FPGA
Experience with acoustic measurements using instruments like Audio Precision and critical listening skills
Experience with Android / Linux, Max / MSP, C#
Experience with technical publication and patent application / prosecution.
Experience with machine learning for audio, speech applications
Experience working with a variety of software development practices, such as Agile Sprint / Scrum and Continuous Integration
Version control systems management systems, such as SVN and Git / Gerrit
Bug tracking and reporting software systems such as Jira
Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
